DEDICATED TO THE LORD………..(JUST KIDDING).

SEAN MENTIONED TO ME ABOUT MY LAST WRITTEN BLOG (RIGHT BELOW THIS ONE) ABOUT THE INTENSITY OF THE STUFF I WROTE. I GUESS THE JOKE CAN GET LOST ON MOST PEOPLE, SEAN GOT THE JOKE BUT HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD’T. SO HE TOLD ME TO PUT THIS PHOTO UP INSTEAD OF THE ONE WITH THE CROSSES…..

YEAH THAT’S THE SAME GUY AS THIS……..LET’S HOPE THE ‘CULT’ JOKE DOESN’T GET LOST ON ANYBODY HERE.

RAPE THE JUICE!

HOW CAN PEOPLE STILL BE SO RETARDED? WHAT DO THESE ‘STRAIGHT’ PEOPLE CARE SO MUCH ABOUT IF THEY AREN’T GAY?  GIVE THE GAY COMMUNITY A CHOICE TO GET MARRIED. DON”T THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BE MISERABLE AS WELL?

I BET THE SAME PEOPLE WHO VOTE AGAINST GAY MARRIAGES ARE ALSO APART OF THIS CULT………

I CAN ALREADY HEAR THE SHEEP “BAHHH-ing”.

….ummmm, cool, i guess?

Gregg Nori(from Treble Charger and producer/manager of Sum 41) came to a show that we were playing at for another band that was doing a show for Much Music or MTV. He got two of our shirts and ended up wearing it on TV. I was never a fan of Treble Charger and Sum 41 is not really my thing but it was pretty cool seeing him sport our shirt on the boob tubery. I wonder if he actually liked our music.

writingwritingwritingwritingwritingwriting…….

Constantly writing new material. Keep stuff. Scrap stuff. Good stuff. Shit stuff. Writing takes a toll on me; That sounds like ’stupid artist-wannabe’ syndrome but it’s true. I’ve got thirty some odd tunes in my mind, non of which I think are any good. I’m working with ten at the moment, some of which are in bits and pieces, some of which are in infant stages, some of which are very old which have been sitting in the dark. I just lock myself in my room and write everything and anything. I wonder how other artists write.

“F$#@ you Elton….”

I don’t care what anyone says, I like Lily Allen. If she tells Elton “Diva” John to fuck off cause he’s being a prissy little cunt, she’s okay in my books.

RECORDING YOUR SOUL…..

Sean is having the worst luck with his guitars. Not just his guitars, all the guitars in the studio. They won’t tune properly which is so weird because I used my guitars and they worked out pretty well. Some parts here and there were a bit rough but fixing them wasn’t a problem. Sean on the other hand can’t get the guitars to tune right. I don’t if it’s the way he plays, or if he’s not tuning right or if the gods of guitars just hate him. The weirdest part is that even Rizun tuned up the guitars and made them work but as soon as Sean touches them they get all wonky. We must scientifically study that. It’s really starting to get me irritated but there’s nothing I can do or get mad at. This shit happens I suppose.

————————————————-

Steve Rizun is quite the character. He’s not what I expected at all to be; especially the first time at the ‘Flats’ show when we played at the Kathedral. He seemed more of a quiet fellow. Boy was I wrong. Scott from the ‘Flats’ said we should be prepared for a verbal beatdown from him. Rizun likes to keep things light in the studio by rampaging us with gratuitous insults after each take of every song. The shit-talking just keeps on coming. But it’s all in good fun and we end up taking breaks and talk about music or just surf the web for interesting and hilarious things. We’ve been watching The Simpsons and Robot Chicken alot. He’s also very, very picky which is quite a drastic change from our previous recordings. I worry that it might sound too polished, but I keep reminding myself that I loved the new Flatliners album because he gave the band copious amounts of grit. I want some of that grit and somehow Rizun is getting us there, slowly but surely.

————————————————–

I’m very self-conscious about my voice. Going into the studio doesn’t make it better. I’m not nervous but at the same time I can’t get quite comfortable. When we start tracking, I always tend to overwork my vocals right away because I’m trying too hard. I end up sounding like the ‘cookie monster’. Tracking the song over and over takes it’s toll on my voice so I’m trying to pace myself.

—————————————————

Chris from The Flatliners came into the studio and recorded his parts for the song “Business Never Personal”. He has a way better voice than me but I think I made the right decision on picking him for that song. I think our voices compliment each other. I watched him sing his parts and I always think to myself; How does he scream like that? Sounds like he could kill his voice in one shot but he manages to do it every night at shows.

—————————————————

Duncan came back from the dark. He didn’t show up to the last recording session and it was his time to record. I was a bit pissed, a bit worried and overall impatient. But I suppose talent is worth waiting for. I’m an impatient person. If I want something I will stop at nothing to get it done.

Duncan and I were in the studio recording his parts. He was full of life today as I shadowed his playing. He nailed all the songs down and is making Sean and I look really bad. But c’mon, he plays bass(joking). He has one song left to do but we left it out so he could practice it more. Today gave me a fresh breath of air knowing that our album is coming along quite well now. I’ve been a bit nervous the last couple of session because of the problems we’ve been having with guitars; I want Rizun to like our stuff and to like the record that he’s recording. He’s giving us lots of pointers from a ‘production’ standpoint which makes me think he has some interest in the band. I like his critisism, he puts new light on the record that we wouldn’t have noticed. But things are starting to roll. Duncan is gettin’ it done and Sean is having some luck on his side, finally. The millions of things running through my mind are starting to ease off. I’m psyched.
